Hello lovelies. How are you? Today’s blog post is all about my October Favourites. These are everything that I have been loving in the month of October. Please leave me a comment down below letting me know what you have been loving in the month of October. Hope you have a great day.

I Love Lucy Pop Funko Figures

IMG_2408

I have always wanted Funko to come out with I Love Lucy figures. As soon as I saw them I pre-ordered them immediently. I love how they came out with an original Lucy with her signature polkadot dress, Ricky on the bongos and a Lucy with her chocolate factory episode dress.

I Love Lucy Book Sleeve

IMG_2409

I wanted to get another book sleeve this month Because I didn’t want to keep changing my only book sleeve out all the time. So I went on Etsy and I came across this beautiful I Love Lucy one and I just had to get it. The shop is called Always September Shop. I love this book sleeve and will absolutely be purchasing more book sleeves from this shop in the near future.

 Starbucks Pink Drink

starbucks_pink_drink_fb

This drink makes me extremely happy. I am sure you have seen this drinks around. It is Summer in a cup. I will drink this all year round. Now to get this pink drink you order a strawberry acai refresher with coconut milk and it originally comes with strawberry pieces in it, however I get mine without. Please go and try it you will not regret it.

The Next Five People You Meet in Heaven

IMG_2410

I have been anticipating this sequel release for a year. This book is everything I could ask for. It melted my heart. Highly recommend this book and the duology.

American Horror Story

Ecran_Titre_d'American_Horror_Story

I am in love with this season of American Horror Story. This season is a crossover of Murder House (season 1) and Coven (Season 3) called Apocalypse. The same characters of season 1 and 3 are ion this season as well as some new characters. You absolutely need to watch season 1 and 3 before you watch this season. The show is creepy, beautiful and the acting is phenomenal. Highly recommend.

October 2018 OwlCrate Unboxing

Hello lovelies. How are you?Today’s blog post is all about my October OwlCrate unboxing. This month’s theme was “Lost in a Bookstore”. Please leave me a comment down below letting me now what was your favourite item in this month’s box. Hope you have a great day.

The first thing I see in this box is the spoiler card. This is probably one of my favourites that OwlCrate was ever came out with. I love how the girl is having tea and reading a book named “Little Witches”. I love the aesthetic of this card. I am not going to be looking at the back of this card because I don’t want to spoil myself.

The next item I see in this box is a pair of book nerd socks. These socks were designed by Out of Print and Underlined. I love socks especially bookish ones. These are so cute.

IMG_2361

Another item in this box is a choco mint truffle flavoured tea from The Tea Spot. I am not a tea drinker, however my best friend is so I will absolutely be gifting this to her.  I love the illustrations on this label.

IMG_2363

Next is a tea strainer. Team OwlCrate created this silicone heart shaped strainer and Michelle Grey designed it.

A canvas clutch purse is up next in this box. This was designed and created exclusively from Bookworm Boutique.  It reads on the back “books are a uniquely portable magic”. This pouch is gorgeous.

IMG_2381

The final item is this month’s box is the pin that they always have that corresponds with the spoiler card.

In this month’s box we get the honour of hitting two hardcover exclusive cover signed books.

The first book is a Pride and Prejudice retelling called Pride by Ibi Zoboi. This is about a girl named Zuri who loves where she is from. However, lately she is feeling the the ramifications of renovating the houses on her neighbourhood. When a wealthy family moves next door, Zuri wants nothing to do with their two sons. Soon after Zuri’s older sister starts falling in love with one of them and initial judgments begin to shift. This is an OwlCrate exclusive cover. On the original cover the Title Pride is in blue. It is also signed, comes with a letter from the author and a bookmark. I love the naked spine and the endpapers.

The next book is a fantasy novel called Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kawagawa. At the end of the millennium, whoever holds the scroll will be granted one wish from the great Kami Dragon. When a demon destroys a shapeshifter named Yumeko’s home as well has everyone she knows. She escapes with a piece of the scroll and embarks on a quest to find the missing pieces.  Fate, brings her into the path of Tatsumi, a demon slaying shadow warrior who’s only mission is to find the scroll and to kill anyone who stands in his path. This is an OwlCrate exclusive cover. ON the original cover the background is black and the silhouette of the forrest is red. It is also signed, comes with a letter from the author and a bookmark.

Next is the panphelette that has exclusive interviews with the authors, companies, word searches and a sneak peek of next month’s theme, book and an item.

Next month’s theme is “Rise From the Ashes” and every November box will include an exclusive wax seal kit.

Favourite Side Characters

Hello lovelies. How are you? Today’s blog post is all about my favourite side characters in books. Please leave me a comment down below letting me know what your favourite side characters are. Hope you have a great day.

Kenji from the Shatter Me Series)

IMG_2329

Kenji is absolutely one of my characters in the whole series. He is 100% the comic relief in this dystopian series. He has such funny comebacks.

Aslan from the Narnia Series

IMG_2339

Aslan is such a wise and powerful force. He is patient and kind. He is everything that you hope to be as a human being. Side note I named my cat after him.

Boo Radley from To Kill a Mocking Bird

IMG_2338

He is kind and caring. He is emotionally damaged by the cruelty of his father. A good person injured by the evil of mankind.

Neville from Harry Potter Series

IMG_2337

He is such a lovable character. He is kind, brave and loyal. He is probably the most unlikeliest of being in Gryffindor, but he grows throughout the books to be one of the bravest.

Bookish Yearbook Superlatives

Hello lovelies! How are you? I missed you all. Today’s blog post is all about bookish yearbook superlatives. Yearbook superlatives are like “best dressed” “best couple” or “class clown”. I have a list of 8 common yearbook superlatives and I am going to be desiding on a book character for that superlative. Please leave me a comment down below letting me know what your bookish yearbook superlatives are. Hope you have a great day.

Biggest Flirt (Daisy from the Great Gatsby)

9781847496140

Daisy is so flirtatious around Gatsby and leads him on.

Best Musician (Mia from If I Stay)

IMG_2326

Mia loves the cello. She loves the instrument more the her friends and family. To me the cello is more then a passion, it’s a life line.

Best Artist (Craig from It’s Kind of a Funny Story)

717Tx5+P+7L

Craig faces depression and anxiety. To cope with his mental illness he turns to drawing brain maps. He started drawing these brain maps in his childhood and it becomes an even greater influence on him during his time in a mental hospital. These drawings are Craig’s life line.

Best Couple (Peter and Lara Jean from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before)

IMG_2331

They just get each other. They are such opposites, but that’s what makes them a great couple. Peter was totally into Lara Jean , even before their contract. They are so comfortable with each other. They have great and deep conversations with each other and even when they fight they are still into each other.

Class Clown (Kenji from the Shatter Me Series)

IMG_2329

Kenji us absolutely the comic relief intros dystopian series. He has such witty comebacks.

Most Likely to Become Prime Minister (Hermione from the Harry Potter series)

IMG_2330

She would keep everyone in line.  She is so smart, she would make very well rounded political decisions.

Biggest Bookworm (Matilda from Matilda)

IMG_2328

She is perhaps the most brilliant of all bookworms. She lives in a house where she is not treated very well by her parents and her brother. She finds her resilience in reading by escaping to far off places and different time periods.

Most Likely to Change the World (Ed from I am the Messenger)

IMG_2327

Ed helps people who can’t help themselves. He doesn’t want want anything from them in return. He helps a rape victim, an elderly woman and a fifteen year old girl. Ed has changed the lives of these people and I am certain he will change the world with his kindness.
