Chick-Lit-A-Thon TBR

Hi lovelies! How are you? Today’s blog is all about the 5 books that I am planing on reading for the Chick-Lit-A-Thon Hope you have an awesome day!

The Chick-Lit-A-Thon is a read-a-thon hosted by Lisa (from Books and Smiles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpbEq3M_pDU), Sophie (from All Things Equilateral https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeYuG2yH7X1sjdKLZy5Q6lw) and Jen (from Jen Talks Audiobooks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G42VWc0_IlU). The goal of this read-a-thon is to read five books. Each book corresponds with a challenge. It runs from May 1st to May 31, so you have a whole month to read 5 books.

The books do not have to be romance, they can be anything you consider chick lit.

The challenges are:

1. Read a book with pink on the cover.

2. Read something with music as part of the plot or character (a rock band, rock star, singer)

3. Read an old chick-lit book that you’ve been wanting to read, but haven’t made the time for.

4. Read something by an author who’s written a lot of books that you haven’t read, yet.

5. Read a serious chick-lit novel, like women’s fiction or historical or whatever you choose to think of as more “serious”.

My TBR is:

This sounds like a run and relaxing read-a-thon and I can’t wait to get started!

Favourite Fandom Items

1. Camelot T-Shirt from Society 6 – This shirt brings together two of my favourite things; Disney and Merlin. I love how Camelot looks like the Disney castle and how the font of Camelot looks like the “Disney” lettering. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/162511531/merlin-camelot-shirt-magic-castle-t

2. I Love Lucy Bubble Gum Print from Etsy – This piece of art is so unique. The bubble gum is such a nice pop of colour and the newspaper background makes Lucy stand out.

3. Star Wars Feminist T-Shirt from Etsy – Princess Leila was such a strong female character. The quote and the bad ass picture of Leila pays a beautiful tribute to Carrie Fisher and her legacy.

4. Once Upon a Time Wax Tarts from In the Wick of Time – I’ve always wanted to know what Storybrooke would smell like and now I can. I love in the Wick of Time candles. This is going to be my next purchase from her shop.

5. The Goonies Mug from Etsy – The Goonies is one of my favourite movies and the quote is from one of my favourite scenes in the movie. This mug would be convenient to show my enthusiasm for the movie. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/528396112/goonies-mug-custom-mug-coffee-mug-tea

Favourite  Jokesters, Pranksters, or Funny characters
1. Matilda Wormwood (Matilda) – She is one of the best pranksters in my opinion. Her cleverness and whit makes her come up with funny pranks to pull on the adults that have done her wrong.
2. Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables Series) – Anne is a forced to be reckoned with. She never lets the bad days win by using her funny and curious personality.
3. Ed Kennedy (I am the Messenger) -One of my favourite types of humour to read about is dry humour and Ed Kennedy has this. Through this journey to find out who the messenger is that has been sending him all of these playing cards he still finds the time to find the humour in his life.
4. Kenji (Shatter Me Series) – As soon I was introduced to Kenji’s character he instantly made me laugh. He is a class clown character for sure!
5. Kitty Covey (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Trilogy) – Kitty is the youngest of the Covey sisters. Whether I was reading a fluffy scene or a heartbreaking scene in the series Kitty always lighted up scene with a smart come back or a funny line.
