Hello lovelies! How are you? Today’s blog post is all about the Book Buying Tag. This tag was created by Megan Oliver. Please leave me a comment down below letting me know what your answers are to these questions. Hope you have a great day. 

1-Where do you buy your books from? 

I buy my books from Chapters, Book Outlet and Book Depository. 

2-Do you ever pre orders book and if so do you do this in store or online?

I don’t normally pre-order books. When I do I do this online. 

3-On average, how many books do you buy a month?

On average I buy 10 books a month. 

4-Do you used your local library?

I use my local library for audiobooks and graphic novels. 

5-If so- how my books can you/do you borrow at a time?

At a time I can borrow 25 books, I usually borrow 8 books at a time. 

6-What is your opinion on library books? 

I love library books. I think we should all support our local library. It’s great if you are on a budget. 

7-How do you feel about charity shop/second hand books?

I love charity shops and second hand books because you are supporting a bigger cause and people. 

8-Do you keep your read and TBR pile together/on the same book shelf or not? 

I keep my TBR pile for the month on my nightstand and the rest of my TBR books on my bookshelves. 

9-Do you plan to read all of the books that you own? 

I do plan on reading all of the books that own. However I do not think that will ever happen. 

10-What do you do with books you that you own that you feel you will never read/felt you did not enjoy?

I give the books that I will never read or felt that I didn’t enjoy them to my friends and charitable stores. 

11-Have you ever donated books?

I have donated books before. 

12-Have you ever been on a book buying ban? 

I have never been on a book buying ban. 

13-Do you feel that you buy too many books?

I do feel like sometimes I buy too many books.

All About Reading Books Tag

1. What do you look for most when you pick up a book?

A) A beautiful writing style

B) A character driven story

C) A plot driven story

I would chose A) A beautifully writing style because I fall in love with the writing first before anything else. 

2. What are your pet peeves in books?

My pet peeves in books are deckled pages and when books have a cover change before the series is completed and cheating in books. 

3. If you could print one quote on your wall, which one would it be?

If I could print one quote on my wall it would be “ I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” This quotes is from Little Women. I just love this quote and it’s meaning. 

4. Which genre would you like to explore more?

The genre that I would like to explore the most is non-fiction because I don’t really read a lot of it but I’m fascinated by it at the dame time. 

5. Was there ever a movie adaptation you liked better than the book?

Yes there has been a movie adaption that I liked better than the book and that is Stand by Me. The movie Stand by Me was adapted from the short story The Body by Stephen King. The movie just adds much amazing context that the short story doesn’t give. 

6. If one of your favorite books would be adapted or get a new adaptation, which book would it be and which role would you like to play?

If one of my favourite books would get a new adaptation it would be Anne of Green Gables. The role I would play is Anne because I love her, I aspire to be her and I also love Gilbert. 

7. A hyped book you wouldn’t recommend at all?

A hyped book that I wouldn’t recommend that all is Throne of Glass. I have so many problems with that book series. 

8. A book that highly influenced your life and way of thinking?

A book that highly influenced my life and way of thinking is I am The Messenger. This book restored my faith in humanity. 

9. Are you a fan of re-reading books, do you do it often?

I am a fan of re-reading books and I feel like I do it occasionally. Not as often as I would like to. 

10. Which book title could easily be the title of your life?

A book title that could easily be the title of my life is My Plain Jane because I don’t live an extraordinary life. 

11. Which book should be required reading for everyone?

A bool that should be requited reading to everyone is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This is the type of book that I believe everyone would get something out of and feel connected to the main character in some way.

My favourite modern book/series based on a classic is Heartless by Marissa Myer. It is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland.

I don’t have an answer of this question. I can’t think of any.

An under hyped classic that I’d recommend to everyone is The Secret Garden because I don’t hear a lot of people talking about the book.

A book that I would buy right now and the cost doesn’t matter would be the Barnes and Noble edition of Little Women. It is just gorgeous.

A book that I would get rid of right now is Behind Closed Doors. I read it last year and I hated it. 

3.) Doctor appointment – a book that makes you feel better when you are down

A book that makes me feel better when I am down is I am The Messenger. It brings back my faith in humanity.

A book or series that I felt obligated to read because of the hype is the Kiss Quotient. I loved this book. It is worth the hype. 

5.) Lunch date – a book or series that you feel in love with because a friend recommended it to you.

A book or series that I fell in love with because a friend recommended it to me is the Boston Girl. This is now one of my favourite books of all time. It was such a well done story. 

6.) Work/school week – a book that was hard to get through

A book that was hard to get through was Night by Elie Weisel. This book was hard to get through because it is a Elie’s memoir about his time during the Holocaust. It was heartbreaking and beautifully written. 

7.) Gym day – a book that gets your heart pumping because it was such an exciting page turner.

A book that gets my heart pumping because it was such an exciting page turner is the Neighbours by Hannah Mary Mckinnon.

A book with one of my favourite romantic couples is To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved Before. I love Lara Jean and Peter together. They are so cute.

A book series that I would like to binge on if I had all the time in the world is the Anne of Green Gables series. I have only read the first two.

The hidden gem of the year is The Home For Unwanted Girls. I don’t hear a lot of people talk about this book and it is a story that needs to be shared.

The book that crushed my soul was The Next Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. This book stomped on my soul so often. 

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2018?

The most unique books that I read in 2018 would have to be the Themis Files Trilogy. These book are all told mostly in interview format. 

30. Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?

The books that mad me the most mad was The Wife and Behind Closed Doors. They both made me mad because they both tackle cheating husbands and in both books the main woman character gets only mad at the other woman. They never get mad at the male.

My favourite BookTube channels that I discovered in 2018 is Getting Hygge With It and Books and Smiles. They are both lovely ladies. Highly recommend both. 

2. Favorite post you wrote in 2018?

My favourite post that I wrote this year is all of the posts I made for Bookmas. I have always wanted to participate in Bookmas and this is the first year that I did. 

3. Favorite bookish related photo you took in 2018:?

I don’t have a favourite. 

4. Best bookish event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events,  etc.)?

I didn’t participate in any. 

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2018?

The best moment of my bookish/blogging life in 2018 would have to be starting my bookish blog. I have always wanted a bookish blog and I decided that this year would be the year and I am so happy that I did. 

6. Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year?

The most challenging thing about reading life I found this year was finding time to read. I started my first full time job this year and it was challenging juggling it all. 

7. Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?

My most popular post this year on my blog was my September Book Haul.

The posts that I wished got a little more love are my Bookmas posts. 

9. Best bookish discover (book related sites, book stores, etc.)?

The best bookish discovery of the year is NerdyPost. I got my first NerdyPost subscription box this year and I quickly fell in love with the subscription. 

10.  Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?

I did complete a reading challenge this year. I wanted to read at least 100 books and I have read 144 books.

One of my favourite stand alone book is A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. It is so well written, the plot is amazing and it just rips your heart out and stomps on it. I still think about this book till this day.

My favourite ship is Lara Jean and Peter from To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved Before trilogy. They are just so cute tgether. They make my heart melt.

One of my favourite trilogies is the Themis Files trilogy by Sylvain Neuval. It is an epic alien invasion story.

My favourite fictional creatures are dragons. They are just so bad ass.

One of my least favourite books is Behind Closed Doors. This book was just awful.

The fictional food that I wish I could taste would have to be ButterBeer from the Harry Potter series. I know that you can make your own ButterBeer, but it’s not the same. I want to be with Harry, Ron and Hermione while Im drinking it.

My favourite dance between two characters would have to be the dance scene in the Perks of Being a Wallflower between Charlie and Sam. I like it because it is the first time that Charlie get out of his shell.

My favourite book-to-movie adaptation is Stand By Me. This movie was based off of a Stephen King short story called the Body. The movie did such a good job.

My favourite book-to-movie adaptation soundtrack is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1. It is just so magical and haunting.

My favourite book ending would have to be the Neighbors by Hannah Mary McKinnon. The ending blew me away.
